Jonas Brothers Tickets Nashville January 4, 2008

The Jonas Brothers are returning to Nashville on Jan. 4 to play a surprisingly small venue: the Ryman Auditorium. Tickets will be scarce, but available through this website.

Joe and Nick Jonas told The Tennessean that the band is aiming for a casual, "unplugged" kind of show at the Ryman, similar to its recent last-minute concert in Los Angeles after the American Music Awards.

"The show was amazing," Joe Jonas said. "It had a really cool, loose vibe, with us playing covers of some of our favorite songs, and inviting our friends to come up and play with us. We were just having a good time with our fans, and thanking them for what an amazing year this has been. We didn't get to hit Nashville on our tour this summer, so we decided to come and play there."

"We like to play shows when it's just solely about the music," Nick Jonas said. "Being able to get up there and just have fun with our band — that means the world to us. Touring with big productions is always so much fun, but when we get to break it down to a real intimate vibe with the people that are there, that's always a great time."

The brothers last visited Nashville in 2007, opening for Miley Cyrus at Sommet Center. They headlined previous concerts in Nashville, but that was before smash successes like Camp Rock and their third album, A Little Bit Longer, made them one of the biggest pop acts in the world.

The brothers hope to have some special guests join them at the show, but won't divulge any more.

"We like to keep surprises surprises, if you will," Nick said, "but I think some people might be joining us."

The brothers say Nashville's an ideal fit for a concert that's all about the music.

"Nashville's such a great music city, and we haven't been there in a long time," Joe said. "We wanted to do something special for all our Nashville fans that have been waiting for us to come back. Any chance we get to play our music and have a good time with friends and fans is something we always want to do."

Jonas Brothers Get Disney Channel Reality Show

Disney's plan for Jonas total world domination continues as it was announced today that there will be a new Reality Series starring Nick, Joe, and Keven.

The series, which is shooting under the working title "Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream," will follow the on- and off-stage lives of the platinum selling trio on their current Look Me in the Eyes tour. The series is set to debut in the spring and will give fans unfettered access to the lives of the Jonas brothers as they travel the world. Fans can share the experiences with the Jonases on the tour bus, as they rehearse and perform, go sky-diving and race go-carts. It also will follow them as they interact with their parents and younger brother, Frankie aka "Bonus Jonas".

The Jonases have a huge following among girls. After the August release of their self-titled sophomore album, on Disney-owned Hollywood Records, they joined Miley Cyrus on her sold-out Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds concert tour, which kicked off in October and ended in January. The brothers embark on their Burning Up tour this summer.

This news is only the latest in Disney's master plan for Jonas extreme superstardom. In addition to their million-selling album last summer, the brothers Jonas are set to record a third album, begin production on another TV show called J.O.N.A.S! (Junior Operatives Networking As Spies), and a TV movie, Camp Rock, will hit the air in June.

More Tickets Released For Jonas Brothers

Extra tickets have been released to Wednesday's previously sold-out Jonas Brothers concert at the Cumberland County Civic Center in Portland.

Side-of-stage and other seats, some of which are from the band’s personal allotment, are available at the Cumberland County Civic Center box office, 775-3458; all Ticketmaster outlets, 775-3331; and on-line.

The band just got off last fall’s Hannah Montana-Miley Cyrus tour and is one of the nation’s hottest acts. All thanks to Disney, which has apparently tired of being a farm league for pop talent (Christina, Britney, Justin, etc.), and is now launching stars on its own.

Last summer, the JoBros - Nick, Joe and Kevin - quietly performed at Six Flags parks. Now, with televised ties to Miley Cyrus and a push from the Mickey Mouse folks, they're filling arenas with young shriekers.

For last Friday's sold-out Patriot Center date, scalpers wanted hundreds of dollars for a ticket to hear "S.O.S" and "Hold On." To older ears, too much of the material sounds like "The Banana Splits" theme to command that price. But those whose parents paid it behaved as Beatlemaniacs once did. Arena management said after the show that the Jonas Brothers broke all house records for merchandise sales.

Tickets are $50 and $40. The opening act is Rooney.

Jonas Brothers Tickets

Attention Connecticut: The Jonas Brothers are coming to town this week — twice, so STOCK UP ON EARPLUGS!

The young boy band will perform in Bridgeport and Wallingford on Sunday and Tuesday, respectively, and the halls will be alive with screaming. And, oh, yeah, music too.

"The screaming is constant, non-stop, and there's not one minute of silence during the show," the band's Kevin Jonas recently told the Orlando Sentinel. "It's pretty intense."

The rocking Jonas Brothers — which feature 15-year-old Nick, 18-year-old Joe and 20-year-old Kevin — just didn't jump into the tween radar without a little help. The trio owes a lot to another popular favorite: Miley Cyrus, a.k.a. "Hannah Montana." The hot Disney star featured the well-dressed brunette boy band on her TV program, as the opening act on a recent tour, and on the big screen as part of her red-hot 3D concert film.

As a result, the brothers' pin-up popularity skyrocketed, as young girls across the country fell for their boyish good looks combined with talent and a pop-rock sound.

Despite their success as a three-piece outfit, the Jonas Brothers' origins are not as a trio. In fact, the band began as a single act. Young Nick performed on Broadway, with performances so impressive he secured a record deal with Columbia Records.

The label decided a new boy band might be in the cards, so the two brothers were also signed up. With a devoutly religious family, the group started out with a Christian bent. But soon straight-up pop rock won the band over.

"It's just where the music led us," Nick Jonas told Entertainment Weekly. "I think we can make a bigger impact in the Top 40 world."

But that impact didn't arrive immediately. The band's debut album, "It's About Time," sold a disappointing 62,000 copies and the group asked to be released from its contract. Not long after, Disney's Hollywood Records found the trio and the band's eponymous disc was recorded.

The label promoted the disc by giving the cute musicians a high-profile TV spot. The Jonas Brothers appeared on the "Hannah Montana" show that aired immediately following the Disney Channel debut of the highly anticipated flick "High School Musical 2." Nearly 11 million viewers tuned in to that show and saw the newest boy band.

Within months, the band had a platinum album on its hands.

With its Miley Cyrus-connection, the Jonas Brothers popularity grew and Live Nation offered up a two-year tour, which stops in the state this week.

And the excitement doesn't end at each concert's encore.

The Jonas Brothers have three upcoming projects on the Disney Channel: a TV movie, "Camp Rock," in June; a behind-the-scenes reality show set to air later this year; and in the fall, a scripted series titled "J.O.N.A.S." where they will play secret agents whose cover is as a teen band.

A third CD is already recorded and is due out in June.

And that means the chances are very good that earplugs will be required again soon.

NY Considers "Hannah Montana Law"

Just when it seemed as if the ruckus had finally begun to die down, the Hannah Montana ticket debacle once again emerges to the forefront. New York City councilman Leroy Comrie has proposed a new law that would help protect consumers from experiencing a similar ticketing fall out in the future.

Called “The Hannah Montana Bill,” the legislation would follow in the footsteps of several other pieces of legislation proposed by multiple states in the past few months. Under Comrie’s proposed bill, publicly funded venues would be required to hold 40 percent of their seats for individual consumers. The consumers would then be required to pick up their tickets in person or agree to sign a statement declaring that the tickets would be for their own personal use. Connecticut’s Attorney General Richard Blumenthal recently proposed similar legislation in that state.

In an interview with the New York Sun, Comrie outlined his motivation for proposing the law. “Because of the way these ticket brokers dial in and develop computer programs to snap up the premium tickets, the regular customer has a very slim chance of even being able to purchase a ticket nowadays,” said Comrie.

Should the law be put into place, Comrie claims that it would allow average people a chance at obtaining fairly priced tickets to high demand events. The state of New York repealed its ticket resale restrictions in 2007, allowing tickets to be resold at competitive market value prices. It is unclear how Comrie’s proposed bill would affect the statewide law regarding free reign over ticket resale.
